We offer a variety of courses on attachment-based practice; below you can read about details of our Attachment-Based Practice with Adults course. Keep an eye out here for future courses or contact us with your requirements.
A three-day course for professionals from a range of disciplines who work with parents, carers or other adults whose behaviour may place children or other adults at risk of significant harm. All delegates will receive a copy of Attachment-based Practice with Adults, by Clark Baim and Tony Morrison, published 2011 by Pavilion (retail price £115).
The course is a mixture of presentation, audio and video clips, and small group tasks.
This course is for professionals with some experience of undertaking assessments or therapeutic work with parents or other adults who pose a risk to themselves or others. This includes those working in child welfare / child protection settings, adult mental health or counselling services, criminal justice and multi-disciplinary contexts that cross adult and children's services. The course is also relevant for professionals who supervise staff in the above areas.

Executive Head of Service - Adults and Safeguarding
'I was encouraged to challenge my assumptions with regard to certain clients' behaviour, particularly confrontational clients. I was also encouraged to balance task-led work with person-centred, relationship-based work on a human level.'
Social Worker
'Thank you for an absolutely amazing training experience. It was most inspiring. I learnt so much and I am now paying particular attention to detail when talking to clients and making sense of their discourse.'
